Nursing Links As a nursing professional,
there are a number of nursing organizations in which you can become
involved. These organizations set the standards for the practice
of nursing, as well as allowing nurses from different areas to come
together to problem solve, improve patient care, and effect change
for nurses in their specialty. In many cases, there are national
organizations that oversee the activities of local chapters of that
organization. Some professional organizations are geared toward
general nursing practice, some to nursing management or nursing
education, and others are very nursing specialty specific. You would
choose to join a professional organization depending on what your
