This 671-bed acute care institution provides comprehensive healthcare
services to residents of Newark and surrounding communities and
handles more than 15,000 surgical cases per year. Services include
a Children’s Hospital. NBIMC is a
major teaching affiliate of the Mount Sinai School of Medicine,
New York. Known for their robotics surgery program, NBIMC is home
to the da Vinci “S” Robotic Surgical Training Center,
where surgeons from around the world undergo
training in advanced robotic assisted surgical techniques. This
is also where patients find superior cardiac services and the only
pediatric robotic surgery program in the Tri-State area.
This fully accredited 596-bed acute care hospital offers world-class
medical treatment in a home-town setting. Community now handles
11,000 surgical cases per year, including endovascular abdominal
aortic aneurysms, kyphoplasties, laparoscopic gall bladder surgery,
appendix removal, arthroscopic shoulder repairs, and arthroscopic
ACL repairs. Their same day surgery unit performs cataract and arthroscopic
surgery and laparoscopic procedures. Community offers Stryker Navigation
for ENT and Neuro, Greenlight for Urology, and is a Center of Excellence
for Orthopedics. High volume procedures include cases in our retinal
program, Novsure for gynecology, laparoscopic cholecystectomy and
breast biopsies.
Patients and their families can be secure in the knowledge that
they are being cared for by our highly trained and skilled surgical
team, comprised of Saint Barnabas surgeons, anesthesiologists, experienced
surgical and critical care nurses and technicians. The Saint Barnabas
Ambulatory Surgery Center, inclusive of GI Endoscopy, will perform
about 17,000 procedures this year. The Women’s Center for
Gynecological Surgery includes 3 ORs and will perform about 4,000
procedures this year and about 1,300 IVF procedures. Advanced procedures
at the Ambulatory Surgery Center include laparoscopic cholecystectomy
and hernia repair, partial joint replacements and very advanced
ophthalmologic procedures,
including corneal transplant and retinal procedures. Our Refractive
Surgery Center includes the Intralase Laser, which allows a surgeon
to perform all laser (no blade) LASIK procedures.
The Saint Barnabas Medical Center is a 601-bed institution whose
dedicated physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals utilize
advanced medical and surgical specialties to provide high-quality
patient care and health education to the community. SBMC is also
home to the Bariatric Center of Excellence, Live from…Kidney
Classroom, and Neuro and Sinus surgeryNavigation. Saint Barnabas
Medical Center sees 15,000 surgical cases per year.
A 201-bed affiliate of the SBHCS, Union Hospital delivers high-quality
medical services and compassionate patient car in more than 9,800
procedures per year. This non-profit, community teaching hospital
also provides state-of-the-art
pain management. Union performs various surgical services, specializing
in Compassionate Ambulatory Surgery, and procedures such as endoscopy,
general and plastic surgery, orthopedics, podiatry and others.
Patients at Clara Maass receive expert care in a technology-rich,
465-bed environment. It has been referred to as the “Hospital
in the Park” due to its proximity to Branch Brook Park and
primarily serves residents of Essex, Hudson and Bergen Counties.
Surgeries performed are in specialties including ophthalmology,
ear, nose and throat, podiatry, plastic and reconstructive surgery,
orthopedics, gynecology, general surgery, gastroenterology, urology
and oral surgery. There are four operating suites in the Same-Day
Surgery Center, complemented by an 8,700 square-foot Endoscopy Center.
Monmouth Medical Center is a 527-bed, regional tertiary care teaching
hospital in Long Branch, New Jersey — featuring a full spectrum
of services, from geriatric care to a Children’s Hospital.
There are 13,000 surgeries performed annually
in specialties such as neurosurgery, otolaryngology and pediatric,
advance reconstructive and laproscopic surgeries. Monmouth Medical
Center is home to the da Vinci Robotic System. Robotic cases include
radical prostatectomies.
Patients receive exceptional medical and healthcare services, and
participate in a full array of wellness programs, at Kimball Medical
Center — a fully accredited 350-bed acute care hospital that
consistently achieves superb OR patient satisfaction scores. Kimball
Medical Center provides diagnostic and treatment services in all
major specialties including medical surgical procedures. They provide
patients with the latest advancements in laser and arthroscopic
surgery.
