The Janice M. Gamper Nursing Scholarship

It is with great pleasure that we introduce The Janice M. Gamper Nursing Scholarship for students currently enrolled or accepted into an accredited nursing program.

Applicants may apply and qualify for a scholarship up to $2,500 or more per year for up to two years.

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM, APPLICANTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

  • Be a matriculated nursing student in an accredited Baccalaureate Degree, Associate Degree or Diploma Nursing Program.
  • Maintain a 3.0 grade point average in nursing related courses.
  • Provide two (2) letters of recommendation – current/past professors or employers.
  • Submit an application, a 500-word essay that describes your educational plan, career goals, how they correlate to the nursing mission, and why you should receive the scholarship; a personal interview may be required.
  • Owe Saint Barnabas one year of service for each $2,500 scholarship awarded by Saint Barnabas Medical Center.
  • Be of good moral character.
  • Agree to participate in employee focus groups as requested.

Applicants employed by Saint Barnabas Medical Center may only apply after successful completion of employee orientation and the three-month probationary period. In addition, applicants must perform at a minimum satisfactory level, with no pending disciplinary actions.
