Within the Saint Barnabas Health Care System,
professional learning is designed to augment the knowledge, skills,
and attitudes of nurses, therefore enhancing the nurses' contributions
to quality health care. As roles and responsibilities change, the
need for continuing competence increases.
• SBHCS
Program Calendar- Updated quarterly, the SBHCS professional
nurse can register to participate in a variety of educational initiatives
sponsored by The Nursing
Education Advisory Council (NEAC). This Council, comprised of
Directors of Education from each affiliate within the Saint Barnabas
Health Care System is dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art
educational programming.
• SBHCS E-Learning Opportunity-
E-Learning opportunities are made available for the SBHCS
professional nurse as identified by:

each SBHCS affiliate for contact hour access. Questions regarding

• In
cooperation with GE Healtcare most SBHCS affiliates offer a Training
in Partnership Television (TiP-TV). TiP-TV offers accredited
continuing education courses and best practices for nurses within
the SBHCS. Questions regarding computer locations can be referred
to the affiliate's Director of Education.
The
New Jersey State Board of Nursing’s new Continuing Education
regulations for RNs and LPNs were published May 1, 2006
in the New Jersey
